LLDTEK vs GoHighLevel for appointment businesses

GoHighLevel gives an agency a whole marketing system to build and resell, while LLDTEK staffs agents beside the book you already run.

GoHighLevel suits a marketing agency, or an owner who wants to build their own system, that is happy to run CRM, funnels, calendars and AI agents inside one platform and configure all of it. LLDTEK suits a salon, clinic, spa or studio that wants its existing booking system to stay in charge, with voice and text agents set up for it and run beside that book. The deciding question is which calendar is the real one.

LLDTEK wrote this comparison. We sell AI agents for appointment businesses, so read it knowing that. Every GoHighLevel claim below links to HighLevel's own pages, checked on 2026-10-26. HighLevel changed its Voice AI rates in April and May 2026, so open the links before you decide.

What GoHighLevel is

HighLevel calls itself "the AI-powered business operating system" and promises "all the tools you need to capture, nurture and close new leads into bookings, sales, reviews and repeat customers" (gohighlevel.com, checked 2026-10-26). That is an accurate description of its scope. It is a CRM with landing pages, forms, email and SMS marketing, calendars, reminders, review requests and AI agents, all in one login.

Its buyer is usually an agency. HighLevel's developer documentation says the platform is "not a standalone SaaS platform sold directly to end-users." Agencies buy licences, white-label it "under their own branding and custom domains", and run one sub-account per small-business client, who "often believe they're using the agency's in-house platform" (HighLevel Marketplace docs, Agency vs Sub-Account, checked 2026-10-26). If a marketing agency offers your salon its own "AI receptionist", ask whether HighLevel is running underneath it, or a builder platform such as Vapi, which we cover in Vapi vs LLDTEK for appointment businesses.

HighLevel also courts salons directly. Its March 2026 blog post on salon CRMs says "HighLevel for salons brings CRM, scheduling, communication and automation together in one system" (HighLevel blog, checked 2026-10-26). That post mentions Vagaro, Square, Mindbody and Fresha as alternatives. It does not describe working alongside any of them.

The AI Employee pieces

HighLevel sells its AI features as "AI Employee." Two parts matter on a front desk.

Voice AI answers and places phone calls. HighLevel's help center says its agents "can answer incoming calls, engage callers in conversation, gather information", "connect with calendars and schedule appointments directly during conversations", transfer calls to a person "based on specific conditions you define", and speak "in multiple languages." It "only works on accounts using LC Phone or Twilio numbers" (Overview of Voice AI Agents, checked 2026-10-26).

Conversation AI handles text threads. It can run in Suggestive mode, where it "drafts reply messages for incoming conversations but does not send them automatically", or Autopilot, where it replies on its own. It can answer questions from its training sources and guide a contact toward a booking (Conversation AI Bot Explained, checked 2026-10-26). Suggestive mode is a sensible way to start, because staff see every draft before it goes out.

The booking calendar

HighLevel has its own calendars. The help center lists two scheduling types. Meetings covers personal, round robin, collective, class and service calendars. Services supports "variations, add-ons, multiple services and staff specific pricing" (Calendar View, Services, checked 2026-10-26). A business that books everything inside HighLevel gets a capable book with staff, add-ons and classes.

What it costs

HighLevel publishes its prices, which deserves credit.

The same pricing article says phone system charges "apply to all phone calls, regardless of plan", and that HighLevel may throttle or limit Unlimited usage it considers excessive. As our own arithmetic from those published numbers, a single business on Starter with AI Employee Unlimited starts at $194 a month before phone charges. On pay per use, 450 Voice AI minutes at the voice engine rate plus the cheapest text-to-speech comes to $27 before tokens and phone charges. If an agency resells HighLevel to you, you pay the agency's price, which HighLevel does not publish. Our AI receptionist cost guide explains how per-minute and per-location billing compare across other vendors.

What LLDTEK is

LLDTEK is a narrower product. It is an AI agent platform for appointment businesses with five agents: front desk, no-show recovery, rebooking, reviews and the live floor. They share one thread across voice, SMS and the web, and they work against the booking system or POS you already run. LLDTEK does not replace your calendar, checkout or the person at the desk.

We set the agents up with you. You do not write prompts. We listen to how your desk actually sells, connect the book, test real calls against it, and watch a live day with you before anyone is billed. The steps are laid out on How it works.

We do not publish a price. We quote after a thirty-minute demo, once we know your hours, languages, call volume and which calls should still go to a person. If the fit is wrong, we say so on that call. That costs you half an hour before you see a number, which is a real drawback next to HighLevel's public price list.

The difference that decides it

Picture a composite floor, built from common setups and not a named LLDTEK customer. A six-chair salon keeps its appointments in Square. Every stylist's day, every deposit and every client note lives there. An agency offers a HighLevel package with an AI receptionist for after-hours calls.

The Voice AI books into a calendar connected inside HighLevel. Unless somebody keeps that calendar in step with Square, the salon now has two books. A caller gets 6:30 on Thursday with the colourist in HighLevel while a regular already holds that slot in Square. The salon pays for that on Thursday evening, when two clients arrive for one chair.

HighLevel's answer is to move the whole book into HighLevel. For some businesses that is the right call. For a salon whose payroll, commissions and card terminal run through Square or Vagaro, it means switching systems to get a phone answered. We argued against that trade in Do you need a new POS for an AI receptionist?.

So the first question for any agency pitching HighLevel is simple. Ask which calendar the agent writes to, and what keeps it in step with the system you check out in. If the answer is a sync they built, ask to see it handle a cancellation and a double booking. The salon article we checked describes no integration with salon software, so get this in writing. Our demo checklist lists the other tests.

Choose GoHighLevel if…

You are an agency. HighLevel is built for you. White-label branding, sub-accounts, SaaS mode and rebilling are features LLDTEK does not offer.

You want one system for marketing as well as booking. Funnels, landing pages, email campaigns, pipelines and the calendar all sit in one place, and LLDTEK covers none of the marketing side.

Your book already lives in HighLevel, or you are starting fresh with no POS. Then there is no second calendar to sync, and Voice AI books straight into the real thing.

You or someone on your team likes to build. HighLevel's prompts, actions, workflows and Agent Studio give a hands-on operator a lot of control, and the 14-day trial lets you test it before paying.

You want to see a price before you speak to anyone. HighLevel publishes it. We do not.

Choose LLDTEK if…

Your book lives in a booking system or POS you are not leaving, and you want the agents to work against that book rather than a copy of it.

Nobody on your team wants to write prompts or maintain workflows. We set up and staff the agents with you, then watch a real day before billing.

The gaps you are trying to close are around the appointment rather than in your marketing: the call that rings while every chair is busy, the slot that opens at 2pm and stays empty, the client who leaves without a next visit, the review nobody asked for.

Your callers use more than one language and you want the booking and the review request to stay in the language the client used.

You want a vendor who will tell you on the first call if your shop does not need this. Some do not. A shop that already answers every ring is one of them.

Questions

Questions operators ask

Possibly. If an agency runs your marketing in HighLevel and your appointments stay in your booking system, the two cover different jobs. The overlap to settle is reviews and reminders, so that a client does not get two requests. Bring the agency's setup to the demo and we will tell you where the lines should sit.
