An AI receptionist for restaurants that run on Toast

Toast runs your checks, menu, kitchen tickets and, if you add Toast Tables, your waitlist and reservations. LLDTEK answers the calls, texts to the restaurant's number and web chat that reach you while the host is walking a party to the table, answers from the details your managers approve, and passes anything that needs a person to the right one.

Woodblock-style grill house on a rainy evening: diners fill the low tables while a cook works the charcoal grill and a server carries bowls, a black rotary telephone rings on the unattended host stand beside an open ledger, a counting box and a spike of order tickets, and a glowing thread runs from the phone to a message slip held by one of three guests waiting under an umbrella outside, then back to an empty set table in the foreground

Live run

Hi, can I get a table for two around 7:30 tonight?

request · tonight · party of 2 · times from the setup agreed on the demo

I can offer 7:15 or 8:45 for two. Would either work?

7:15 is fine. Is the patio open tonight?

It is, until 9. I'll note that you'd like the patio, and the host will seat you there if a table's free.

Short answer

Yes.

Does LLDTEK work with Toast?

Yes. LLDTEK works beside Toast. Checks, payments, the menu and kitchen tickets stay in Toast POS, and the waitlist and reservations stay in Toast Tables if you use it. LLDTEK's agents answer calls, texts and web chat, offer tables by the availability rules agreed with you on the demo, answer questions about hours, parking and the menu from notes you approve, and hand large parties, events and complaints to a manager.

Who does what

Toast keeps the book. The agents take the line.

Stays in Toast

  • As of October 2026, Toast's pricing page lists a Starter Kit from $0 a month (aimed at single-location restaurants that need one or two terminals), Point of Sale from $69 a month with your choice of hardware, and Build Your Own at custom pricing. Toast says those prices apply to new customers and single locations, and that Toast Care support is included with every software subscription, 24/7 by phone or web messaging.
  • Toast Tables, a separate host app for reservations, the waitlist and the floor plan. The host app runs on your own iPad or Android tablet, not on Toast devices such as Toast Flex or Toast Go, and managers can change settings and bookings from a computer in Toast Web. The base Toast Tables tier is meant for mostly walk-in restaurants and takes up to 25 reservations a month; Toast Tables Plus adds unlimited reservations and the Experiences add-on.
  • Waitlist texts from the host stand. A guest who leaves a phone number gets a confirmation text with a link to check the estimated wait for their table, and the host's Send Notification button texts them that the table is ready. If a notified party doesn't reply or arrive within 15 minutes, Toast Tables marks the party Done and moves it to History.
  • SMS templates for confirmations, waitlist notifications and reservation reminders, set in Toast Web. On templates that support it, switching on auto-reply lets guests reply 1 to confirm, or 9 to cancel or leave the waitlist. Two-way messaging lets the host text guests from the app and see their replies there; Toast says it is for booking details only, not marketing.
  • Online booking from your website, Google and the Local by Toast app, including Reserve a Table and Join Waitlist buttons through Reserve with Google. Flow Control limits how many guests can be booked in each 15-minute window of a service period, and an inventory setting decides what share of each dining area is bookable online.
  • Guest notes, special requests and visit history that carry from Toast Tables and Guestbook to the POS and handhelds, a reservation form that can ask for allergies and dietary needs, and prepayment for reservations and special experiences such as a wine dinner.
  • Toast's integrations marketplace in Toast Web, which includes order-taking phone agents such as LomanAI. Toast's help center says LomanAI sends phone orders into the POS and kitchen display.

Takeout orders or table calls: pick the right tool first

If most of your rings are people ordering pickup, an order-taking agent from Toast's integrations marketplace, such as LomanAI, may be what you need, and LLDTEK isn't trying to replace your checkout. LLDTEK is built for the other calls: a table for six on Friday, whether the patio is open, a birthday for twenty, a guest who is running late. When someone does want to order, the agent texts them your Toast online ordering link, or passes the call to the counter if that transfer is set up on the demo.

The phone, while the host is at the floor plan

Toast Tables keeps the waitlist and the book in order, but it can't pick up the stand phone while the host is seating a four. The agent answers the call, asks for the date, time and party size, and then offers times or takes the request for the host, depending on how we connect to your Toast Tables book. That connection, and who confirms each booking, is checked with you on the demo. If Tables isn't part of your Toast setup, the agent takes the request for the host to confirm.

Texts that land on the restaurant's number

Toast's two-way messaging keeps booking conversations inside the host app. Guests also text your main number about other things: is the kitchen still open, can they bring a dog to the patio, do you have a gluten-free bun. The agent answers those from your approved notes on that number. Toast Tables can text a waitlist party itself, and so can the recovery agent when a table opens. How the recovery agent learns that a table has opened in Toast Tables, and which list it texts, is set up with you on the demo, where you also decide which side sends which message, so nobody is texted twice about one table.

Parties of seven and up

Toast Tables can send the host app an alert when a party of 7 or more is booked within a 4-hour window. Those bookings usually need more than a time slot: a set menu, a split check, a deposit, a room. When one comes in by phone or chat, the agent writes down the date, guest count, occasion and spend, then passes it to whoever prices events. Prepayment stays a Toast Tables tool that your team decides on and takes.

House rules you sign off

Our team works through your Toast Tables settings with your general manager: what share of the room is bookable online, what callers hear when the time they ask for isn't available, the party size that goes straight to a person, and which allergen questions the kitchen has answered in writing. Once the first week of conversations is in, we go through the ones that sounded off and rewrite those answers with your GM.

A day on the floor

What it looks like with Toast.

An example Friday at a 90-seat neighbourhood grill on Toast POS with Toast Tables Plus (composite, not a named customer; the booking path is the one agreed on the demo)

  1. STEP 01

12:10 pm. A caller asks for a table for two at 7:30 tonight. The agent offers 7:15 under the booking setup agreed on the demo, and texts a confirmation once the booking is confirmed.

  2. STEP 02

2:45 pm. Someone phones to order wings for pickup. The agent texts the restaurant's Toast online ordering link, as the owner chose, and the caller orders there.

  3. STEP 03

5:20 pm. A web chat asks about a retirement dinner for 18 next month. The agent records the date, budget and dietary needs for the events manager to call back.

  4. STEP 04

6:55 pm. A guest texts the restaurant's number that their four will be 15 minutes late. The agent replies with the house late policy and tells the host, who adjusts the floor plan.

  5. STEP 05

8:40 pm. A caller says they were charged twice. The agent doesn't look up or discuss the check. It takes a callback number and flags the message for the manager on duty.

Setup

Connected and live in days, not a rollout.

Nothing is migrated. Your team keeps checking out in Toast.

  1. 1

    Map your Toast setup

On the demo we go through which Toast products you run: POS only, or POS with Toast Tables or Tables Plus, plus online ordering and Reserve with Google. That decides whether the agent offers times, takes requests for the host, or sends callers to a link.

  2. 2

Collect the answers guests ask for

Hours by service period, patio and bar seating rules, dogs, corkage, cake, parking, step-free access, the allergen notes your kitchen has written down, and the people who handle events, refunds and complaints.

  3. 3

    Test a Friday rush

Before launch we run your busiest night by phone and text: a pickup order, a party of nine, a late four, a guest asking about sesame that the notes don't cover, and someone disputing a charge on their check.

  4. 4

Start with the hours you miss most

Many restaurants start with lunch overflow, then the Friday and Saturday dinner push. You read one full day of live conversations before the first invoice.

Questions

Toast questions.

Something we did not cover? Ask it on the demo, against your own book.

Book a demo
Can the agent take takeout orders into Toast?

No. LLDTEK doesn't ring orders into Toast or take payments. It can text the caller your Toast online ordering link or, if that transfer is set up on the demo, pass the call to the counter. If phone orders are most of your calls, an order-taking partner from Toast's integration marketplace may suit you better.

We use Toast POS but not Toast Tables. Does LLDTEK still help?

Yes. Without a reservation book in Toast, the agent takes the request and passes it to the host to confirm, or points guests to the booking tool you do use. If you're on OpenTable or Resy, there are separate pages for those.

Toast Tables already texts our waitlist. Will guests get two texts?

Not if you set it up that way. Toast Tables can send the confirmation and table-ready texts, and the recovery agent can text a waitlist party when a table opens, once how it hears about openings is set up on the demo. You choose on the demo which one sends each message, and the other stays quiet.

How do bookings the agent makes get into Toast Tables?

Whether the agent offers times from your Toast Tables book or takes requests for the host to confirm, and how each booking lands in Tables, is agreed and tested on the demo before launch.

Can it answer allergy questions?

Only from allergen notes the kitchen has put in writing. Toast Tables can also collect allergies on the reservation form. If a guest asks something the notes don't cover, the agent tells the guest it will check with the kitchen and flags it for a manager.

We have several Toast locations.

Toast Tables lets one login switch between restaurants, and LLDTEK keeps a separate set of answers for each: opening times, menu notes, patio rules and who handles escalations. A guest who asks about one address hears about that address, and an owner can read every location's conversations in one place.
